St. Mary's is a key part of the Masham community. The sight of the church spire has drawn visitors in to the lovely market town of Masham for centuries. The church has been at its heart for over 800 years. The bells sound out celebrations, baptisms, weddings and funerals. Residents and visitors are welcome to enter to worship or simply admire the splendour.
St. Mary's acts as a beautiful venue for concerts, exhibitions, arts and fund-raising events. In September there is a flower festival during the renowned Masham Sheep Fair.
Masham Church 2000 Trust was started more than 25 years ago by John Waddington, with help from the late Dr. David Smith.
Its purpose is to support the maintenance of this beautiful and historic church and churchyard, preserving it for future generations to enjoy.
The Trust is supported by donations and annual fundraising events. Here's how you can help.

St. Mary's dates back to Normal times, with 15th century additions, and offered many generations a serene and tranquil place to reflect and worship. Just outside the church door is a rare Anglo-Saxon cross shaft. Ancient and modern stained glass filter the light into the church, where you'll find well-preserved hatchments of heraldic significance and monuments to the Danby and Wyvill families. The well-maintained churchyard providers space to sit in quiet contemplation.
